ANN JACKSON (nee HARDER) After a lengthy illness, Ann Jackson, beloved wife of Herbert Jackson, passed on September 22, 2000 to eternal everlasting peace. Ann, 78 years old, was born in Russia in 1921, immigrated to Canada at age three, and grew up in the Burwaldi district near Morden. After living a while in Morden, she then spent ten years at Ninette where she met her husband to be, Herb Jackson. They were married September 15, 1954, came to Winnipeg in 1955 and resided on Churchill Drive for 45 years. Ann is survived by her husband Herb; her daughter Lia (Darryl) and grandsons, Matthew and Jeffery; two brothers, Jake and Henry living in B.C.; many half and step brothers and sisters. She was predeceased by her father in Russia, her mother and stepfather, and a sister Elizabeth. Ann was an active member of the Daughters of the Nile for many years. She was devoted to her home, to the garden, but particularly to the upbringing of her daughter Lia. Some of her great thrills were when Lia received the Guides Canada Cord, when Lia won equestrian gold medal at Quarterama in Toronto, when she graduated as D.V.M. Her great joy then became her two wonderful grandsons. Even though she only saw them two or three times a year, they were always in her thoughts. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anns name may be made to CancerCare, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or Khartum Shriners, 1055 Wilkes Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3P 1B9 (charity for crippled and burned children). Cremation has taken place. A memorial reception in celebration of Anns life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, in the Khartum Temple of the Shrine, 1055 Wilkes Ave. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
