GLADYS LAURA ALEXANDER Gently, with her family by her side, Gladys Alexander passed away at her home on September 25, 2000. Gladys was born in Carman, MB in 1918, the eldest child of William and Laura Stout. Gladys will be deeply mourned by Mac, her devoted husband of 63 years; children, Ted (Pat), Joan (Brian), Dan (Peggy) and Susan; grandchildren, Karen, Heather, Glenn, Calem, Garry, Warren and Margo; great-grandchildren, Elicia, Alana, Eduardo, Antonio, Allison, Lindsey, David, Thomas, Timothy, Nolan and Nathan; her sister Mae Campbell; brother Norman (Betty) Stout; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and son-in-law Thomas MacDonnell. Her life was rich and full. Her greatest joy was her family and her caring devotion will be cherished by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a generous and thoughtful friend, a source of strength and comfort to relatives, and a friend and loyal partner to her husband. Gladys was a committed and hard working member of her community and church. She taught elementary school for many years, was an avid golfer, quilter and gardener. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to Gladys many friends for their thoughtfulness during her illness and the kind and compassionate care provided by the nurses and home care workers. Service will be held Wednesday, September 27 at 2:00 p.m. at the Miami United Church. Interment will be in the family plot in the Miami Cemetery. Doyle Funeral Chapel of Carman in care of arrangements.
