JAKE FRIESEN (RUBEN JACOB) Peacefully at home, surrounded by love on September 23, 2000. Best friend and husband to Linda, father to Andrea, Ryan and Richard, all at home. Brother to Henry, wife Shirley and their children, Diana and Russell and granddaughter Carly; brother to Marie, husband Gary Cornelius and their children, Rachel and Erin. Jake was welcomed into the hearts of Lindas family by Lindas mother Margaret Arseniuk and Lindas brothers and sister, Lawrence (Lynne) and their daughter Cheryl, Leslie (Rachel) and their children, Kerry (Troy) and Jonathan, Michael (Susan) and children, Jason and Jeremy, Karen (Larry Yaremchuk), and son Jaymes, Tim, Mark (Maria). Jake was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Elizabeth. Together with special friends, Bonnie and Leo Camirand, Jake and Linda enjoyed the love and laughter of frequent visits to Baked Expectations. Jake loved teaching at R.B. Russell Vocational School touching the hearts of staff and students. It was a blessing and privilege to know him. Jakes wish was to be at home with the family he loved to the last moment of his life. This gift to him was made possible by the tremendous support of so many at CancerCare Manitoba. The funeral service for Jake will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 28 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., (Across from the Royal Canadian Mint). Interment will follow in the Garden of Christ the Redeemer at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the reception centre. Donations in Jakes memory can be made to the Chemo Patient Care Fund in care of CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
