DIXON It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Reginald William Dixon at the San Gabriel Community Hospital, on September 13, 2000. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Olga of 52 years; his brother-in-law William Chick (Anne) sisters-in-law, Mrs. John Chick (Esther), Mrs. Stephen Salome (Christine) and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Reginald was predeceased by his mother Evelyn Dixon in 1969 and his father William George in 1977. Reginald was born April 8, 1918, and raised in Winnipeg. He served with the Royal Canadian Navy during The Second World War. Reginald and Olga moved to California in 1957 where he was employed by the Southern California Edison Co., retiring in 1985. He was a member of the San Gabriel Mission, the San Gabriel Historical Society, and the Los Compadrenos de San Gabriel. His hobbies were golfing, gardening, travelling and Western Rodeos. In his early years he was very fond of all sports especially wrestling, boxing, soccer, and car racing. He will be sadly missed by all his friends. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart Foundation in his memory. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Kedlak, Dennis Martens, David Kulbaba, Allan Sulyma, Pierre Daoust, Andre Daoust. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, September 27 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., with Fr. B. Bayda C.Ss.R. officiating. Entombment Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 4477 MAIN STREET 338-7111
