GERALD MARCEL HAMONIC
MARCH 30, 1956 - SEPTEMBER 15, 2000
Today our most truly loved husband and father left us to be with our Lord Jesus Christ. Our hearts are overwhelmed with unspeakable sadness and pain.
Gerald was born in St. Pierre, Man., and grew up in St. Malo where he lived all his life. He graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1978 with a Diploma in agriculture. He began farming with his dad and his brother. Gerald loved the farm and worked hard producing a variety of crops. He weathered the ups and downs of agriculture with the same perseverance, hope and full trust in Jesus as he did in every part of his life.
Gerald was involved in many committees and gave much of his time and abilities. He particularly enjoyed being president of St. Malo minor hockey and was beginning his 3rd year. He was very dedicated and his heart was truly in the best interests of the community. He had a special mix of strong leadership, intelligence, business sense and kindness. Those that served with him on these committees were greatly influenced by his example and learned much from him. Gerald married his truly loving wife Lisa in 1981. They spent 19 wonderful years of marriage in love and devotion, friendship and partnership.
Gerald was the absolute most outstanding father. He was fiercely devoted to his family and he genuinely loved and liked his kids. He spent endless hours with them. He guided Carly with wisdom to university, he encouraged Melissa to follow her dreams, he taught his right hand Jesse all he knew about farming, and he devoted endless enjoyable hours following Travis hockey.
Our house was a home filled with love and so much laughter, Geralds laughter was the core, his love is our life!
Gerald leaves behind his parents Rolande and Edouard, who gave him so much love. Also, he will be sadly missed by his sister Michelle, brother-in-law Leo, sister Claude and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Edouard Junior in 1994.
Gerry was liked by all those who knew him - relatives, friends, farm people and hockey people. He treated all with respect. Gerald loved life and he remained close to Jesus. His generosity and kindness will never be forgotten.
Prayers will be said on Monday, September 18, 2:00 p.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 2:30 at the St. Malo Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Joseph Choiselat officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Daddy, we love you forever

Gerry, our love will never end

Come unto Me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens,
And I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28
