Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryREGINALD JANZ January 9, 1942 - September 24, 2000 On Sunday afternoon at home, in his wifes arms, two sons at his feet, and his immediate family members at his side, Reg left his body and soul took flight to the land where there is no night, no sorrow, no tears and no more pain. There was great rejoicing in heaven as there to meet him, was his brother Royden, his dad Benjamin, but most of all JESUS. What a day that will be when we will be reunited again. Reg is survived by his wife and the love of his life, Loretta (Ladobruk) They celebrated 38 years of marriage on September 22, 2000. Also left to cherish his memory are his sons, Darrell (Angela), Christopher, and his favourite granddaughter Megan. He is also survived by his mother, Freda; sister Eleanor (Glen) Derksen; brothers, Tim (Darlene), Loren (Caroline), sister-in-law Sharon (Barry) Schoder, and their families. Reg was also loved and will be deeply missed by the Peter and Mary Ladobruk family. Reg was born in Steinbach, MB where he continued to live. As a teenager, he worked in the family business, Janz Hatchery until the age of 30. He received his pilots license at the early age of 18, and through the ensuing years his love of flying took him into the role of crop duster. For 13 summers, we as a family joined him in this venture. His airplanes included a Chipmunk, Harvard AT6, Pawnee, Cessna AG Truck, a 180, a 170, a Bonanza, Citabria and two Super Cubs which were his favourites. 1978 proved to be the hardest year of flying for Reg after the loss of his brother. That March, Royden died piloting a plane for Glad Tidings Arctic Mission. His brother Loren and son Darrell helped him through that spray season. After losing two close pilot friends, Norm Pischke and Abe Hiebert in plane crashes, Reg sold his last Super Cub and went into long distance trucking. He was always looking for another plane but the long hours on the road left him without a lot of extra time. His happiest times were spent at the family cabin, and he was looking forward to spending his retirement there. Reg and Loretta drove together for ten years, and the last four with his son Chris. Reg loved the run through the mountains and was in awe of what God had created. His only regret was being away from home, family and church. Reg loved the Lord and accepted Jesus into his heart at an early age. There were some years in the wilderness, but at the age of 30, he rededicated his life to the Lord and Full Gospel Church became the family church. Reg was a kind, loving, compassionate and forgiving husband and father. He will be missed as the head of our home. He sacrificed daily for us and he loved us dearly. His words to us were always to serve the Lord, to love Jesus who gave His all for us, and to make sure that we would see him again and that he would be cheering us on until we meet in Heaven. Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Krahn, Dr. Prenovault, Dr. Galessiere, staff at Bethesda Hospital, Dr. Lipschitz of Health Sciences, and Tracy Ivanyshyn of Cancer Care of Winnipeg. Special thanks to Anne Plett and Phyllis Friesen of Palliative Care, and to our friend, Nurse Shirley Hiebert, who helped us through the last difficult days. God Bless you all would have been Regs words to you. Going home service to take place Friday, September 29, at 2:00 p.m. in the Full Gospel Chapel, Steinbach, MB. Viewing to take place prior to the service from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Private interment to follow. Donations may be made in Regs memory to Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF).
