OATMAR AUGUST (GUS) HUTTER 1897 - 2000 Peacefully, with family by his side, Gus, aged 102 years passed away at the Middlechurch Home, on Friday, September 22, 2000. "Guusty" was predeceased by his sister Hilda who passed away when she was one year old; father Paul in 1956; mother Sophie in 1970. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his brother Karl at 101 years of age; his nephew Dennis; as well as his three grand-nephews, Rodney, Ronald and wife Linda and Robert survive Gus, along with his great-grand niece, Alora Ann Marie. He also leaves to mourn his very close friends, Marg and Al Gill of Vermillion Bay Ont., Don and Benita Mitchell of Burt Iowa and his many numerous friends. Gus was born December 29, 1897 in the city of Gratz, Austria. At the age of five years, his family emigrated to Paduka, Kentucky and then at age 15 moved to Waldhof, Ont., Waldof meaning, "Yard in the forest". He then moved to Vermillion Bay, Ont. where he started his career in carpentry. Gus lived in Vermillion Bay until 1996, then moved to the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, to be close to his brother and family in Winnipeg, Man. The family wishes to thank all the staff, especially, Marni, at the Middlechurch Home, for their dedicated care and warmth that Gus received during his stay. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 30 at 2:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., Aubrey street entrance.
