FAITH KING (nee JOHNSON) Peacefully on Monday, September 25, 2000 at the Riverview Health Centre, Faith King passed away at the age of 81 years after a lengthy battle with Parkinsons disease. Faith was predeceased by her husband Murray on February 5, 1999. Faith will be sadly missed by her sons and their wives, Scott and Millie, Brad and Linda; her three grandchildren, Jennifer, Mark and Ian; her sister Grace; her niece Carole; and her nephews Richard and Michael. Faith was predeceased by one granddaughter Caroline. Faith was born on November 28, 1918 in St. Johns, Newfoundland where she spent her early childhood before moving to Sudbury, Ontario with her sister Grace. Faith began her professional career in Toronto, Ontario working in the publishing industry before meeting Murray and marrying in 1946. After living in various parts of Canada and overseas, Faith and Murray settled in Winnipeg in 1966. Faith began a second career working at the University of Manitoba and occupying her spare time as a campaign organizer for various provincial and federal candidates of the Liberal party. Upon her retirement, Faith and Murray enjoyed many years as snowbirds in Hawaii and Florida where the couple enjoyed the weather, shopping and watching baseballs spring training camps. Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, September 29, at 10:00 a.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley Street.
