CORRADO VENESIA

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCORRADO VENESIA Peacefully, after a lengthy illness on Tuesday September 26, 2000 at the Victoria Hospital, Corrado Venesia, at the age of 68 years. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Grace; his father Oreste; his son Dino and wife Brenda and their children, Alexander and Morgan; his daughter Linda and husband Tom, and their children, Ashley, Kelsey and Danielle; one brother Ermanno and wife Rose; and many nieces and nephews in Winnipeg and Toronto. Corrado was born in Casale Monferrato, Italy on February 19, 1932. He left Italy as a teenager and completed his machinist training in Sweden. In 1953, he immigrated to Canada with his family. After brief employment with Bristol Aerospace, and TCA, Corrado embarked on his 32 year career with Canadian National Railways where he trained many apprentices until his retirement in 1988. Corrado especially enjoyed his monthly breakfasts with his best friend Leonard Mulvaney and the other CNR retirees. He enjoyed daily visits to the St. Vital Park duck pond in the company of his much loved puppy, Toby. Corrado was extremely proud of his Italian heritage. He frequently spoke of the beauty of the Piedmont region of Italy. Corrado will be missed for his candidness and disarming charm. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 30, at 11:00 a.m. in the P. Coutu Funeral Chapel, 156 Marion Street, with Reverend Fr. Sam Argenziano officiating. A private family interment will take place at St. Vital Cemetery at a later date. Special thanks to Dr. Robyn Olson and the staff at the Victoria General Hospital, 3rd floor, especially nurses Ivy, Ron and Marion. Also thanks to the home care providers; Valeri, Roger, Ron and Tracy.
