GORDON BUTTERS Sadly, we announce the death of Gordon Butters on September 27, 2000. Gord was known for his wonderful sense of humour and his ability to spin a yarn. His determination in facing lifes challenges was an inspiration to many people. Gordon was a unique individual. We cherish and celebrate many memories of Gordons life: the summer place at Tomahawk, winter golfing in Texas, the poker club, travelling with Maudrene, his career in the insurance industry, the fellowship of Scottish Right and Khartum Temple Drum and Bugle Corps, and especially his love of music - Big Bands, the Duke, the Count and Ella. Gord felt his children were his greatest gift and he was proud of each of them. He treasured his grandchildren. "Remember your grandfather loves you." Gord is lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Maudrene and his children, Louden (Nathalie), Laura Sokal (John), and Sheila Mills (Rick) and his grandchildren, Andrea, Ellen, Stephanie, Brent, Jennifer; sister Jean (Bruce Knight) and brothers, Dewar, Tom and Bob (Marilyn). The family thanks Drs. Cristanti and D. Young, and the caring staff of Riverview Palliative Care especially Dr. H. Marr, Diane, Elina, Tony, Chris, Barbara, Dorothy and Nada as well as the Home Care staff. A memorial service will be held at Khartum Temple, 1155 Wilkes Avenue on Saturday, September 30 at 10:00 a.m. with Padre Stan Millar officiating. In lieu of flowers, we gratefully acknowledge donations sent to the Khartum Shrine Building Fund, 1155 Wilkes Avenue, Winnipeg R2P 1B9. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
