Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVELYN OLIVE TKATCHUK (SEVERSON) January 27, 1928 - September 26, 2000 After a courageous struggle with cancer, with her family by her side, our mother and grandmother left our embrace. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, Olaf and Agnes Severson and her brother Allan. Along with her husband Nick, she leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Phyllis, Heather (Jack) 5 grandchildren, Andrea (Craig), Tracy (Jason), Adam, Kristy, and Joshua. Also her sisters, May (Alex Chernoff), Eileen Palmer; brothers, Marvin (Leona) and Harold (Ann Severson) aunt Bertha Robson. Also many nieces, nephews and cousins. Special mention to her long time friend Olive Carter. Evelyns greatest joy was the many summers spent with her children and grandchildren at Nutimik and Dorothy Lake in the Whiteshell Provincial Park. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Middlechurch Nursing Home where she made many friends over the years, and always had time for an encouraging word to the residents there. Over the years, she had the good fortune to travel to many places from the Southern States in the winter and to the East and West Coasts in the summer. She was especially fond of the many shopping trips by bus taken with her friends and acquaintances over the past few years. Evelyn enjoyed her home and garden always finding pleasure in her flowers. Her green thumb has been passed on to her granddaughters. The family would like to express their thanks for the kindness shown to her during the past two months by her homecare workers who assisted her at home. Also the staff at 3East Riverview Hospital who made her final days comfortable. Your caring and compassion has not gone unnoticed. Thank you to the many friends and family who made daily visits and made her final days much brighter. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Luxton Avenue, Monday, October 2, at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow in the Cropo Rose Room. Private Family interment will be at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. As much as our Mother loved her grand-children and flowers, we would ask to consider donations to the Childrens Wish Foundation of Canada (Manitoba Chapter), 350 St. Mary Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 3J2 in lieu of flowers. DEAR LORD Put your arms around her Hold her in your tender care Make up to her for all she suffered And all she had to bear. She went through so much in silence Her spirits didnt bend She faced her pain with courage Until the very end. It broke our hearts to lose her But she didnt go alone For part of us went with her The day God called her home. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
