EUGENIA (JEAN) CLAUS (nee BUGERESTA) Born: May 6, 1914 Died: September 26, 2000 On Tuesday, September 26, 2000, Jean Claus peacefully passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 86. Jeans father, William Bugeresta, was one of the early Ukrainian pioneers who came to Canada in the 1890s to start a new life for him and his family. She was predeceased by her son Gary on June 21, 1974; and her husband John, September 19, 1974; her brothers, William Bugeresta and Taras Bugeresta. Also her parents William and Doris Bugeresta. Jean is survived by Hilda Bugeresta and Walter Claus, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Jean grew up in North Winnipeg, graduating from Isaac Newton High School. She was a lifelong member of the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. She was a very loving warm person who gave a lot of her time to the church and many years of volunteering with the Ukrainian National Home, Womens Auxilliary. Prayers will be said on Friday evening, September 29, at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Luxton Avenue. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 30, at 1:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel with Very Rev. Fr. Henry Lakusta officiating. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
