ROBERT (BOB) OTIS HAIGH It is with the deepest sense of loss that the family announces the sudden and quiet "in the blinking of an eye" passing of our beloved Bob, at home on the shores of Rocky Lake, Tuesday, September 19, 2000. Bob was born Monday, July 22, 1935 at Nipawin, Sask. Bob joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1955 and served on several bases in Canada, Europe and Egypt during a very successful career in the field of heavy equipment operation and management, spanning 25 years. Upon completion of his military career, he embarked on the pursuit of medical training and graduated as a Licenced Practical Nurse (LPN) from Keewatin Community College in 1986. He served as LPN at St. Anthonys Hospital and St. Pauls Residence in The Pas. He was very active in the Royal Canadian Legion and served as President of the Carberry Branch from 1977 to 1979. He was also active in the Masons and served as District Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Manitoba. Bob became very active with Grace Church, Cranberry Portage where he enjoyed Bible study. He was baptized June 25, 2000. "It is good to praise the Lord and make music to Your name, O, most High, to proclaim Your love in the morning and Your faithfulness at night." Psalm 92: 1-2. Bob leaves to mourn, his cherished soulmate Marion Wiebe; her daughter Nancy (Brent) Payne and their son Brock. Bob leaves to mourn his sons, Dale (Ildico) and Dallas Haigh; grandsons, Ryan and Landon Haigh; sister Rita (Fred) Wilkins; brother Barry (Myrtle) Haigh; nieces, Wannetta Wilkins, Roxane (John) Anderson, Kathryn (Tim) Kalushka; nephews, Brian (Carrie) Haigh and Norman (Janet) Haigh; great-nieces, Alana Haigh and Melanie Kalushka; great-nephews, Aaron Haigh and Justin Kalushka, numerous cousins and many dear friends. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Orville Otis and Marguerite Marie Haigh (nee Gaffray). Cremation has taken place. A funeral service and reception was held in the Wanless Community Hall on Saturday, September 23 with Pastor Bill Lothian of Grace Church, Cranberry Portage, officiating. Honorary Pallbearers were all of the friends and family members present at the service. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Gideon Bible Society, in care of Eckart Buhlmann, 89 Green St., Flin Flon, MB, R8A 0P5. Hemauer Funeral Home of The Pas was entrusted with the arrangements.
