Date of Passing: Sep 27, 2000
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY LORRAINE GLOWASKI (nee MAZUR) Peacefully, in her sleep, on Wednesday, September 27, 2000, Mary Glowaski went to be with Jesus. Mom was born on July 4, 1916 in Thalberg, Man. There mom spent her early years attending school and working on the farm. In her early 20s she came to work in Winnipeg where she met and married Joseph on November 20, 1940. Mom and Dad built a house at Lot 280 Rebeck Rd., St. Clements where Mom was a devoted wife and mother. Together they raised three children and worked the farm. In January 1961, tragedy struck with the passing of daughter JoAnne. After that, Mom spent time working outside the home, gardening, catering, selling Avon, cleaning houses, offices and her church. She also enjoyed doing crafts, especially crocheting, and had an artists touch when it came to cake decorating and flower arranging. On Christmas Eve 1978, life took another turn for Mom with the unexpected passing of her husband of 38 years. Mom faithfully attended church at Corpus Christi in Narol, and she could often be seen kneeling by her bed praying. Mom was affectionately known to many as Auntie Mary and she welcomed everyone into her home with a cup of tea and some of her delicious baking. She made special occasions very memorable for her family, which we thank her for. Grandma also leaves many precious memories for her grandchildren and a legacy of love. In 1998, Mom left her home of 58 years to live at Kildonan Personal Care Centre. The family would like to thank Moms niece Marie McCormick and Moms brother Walter and Evelyn for the numerous visits and kindness shown to Mom over these last three years. The family would also like to thank the staff at KPCC, particularly the second floor, for their love and kindness. Mom will always be remembered by sons, Garry and Lawrence; daughters-in-law, Donna and Erma; grandchildren, Kelly, Lisa, Mary, Joan and Michael; brothers, Nick and Walter; and many nieces, nephews and friends. A Mother and Grandmother is she who can take the place of everyone, but no one can take her place. Thank you, Mom, for caring, sharing and loving us unconditionally. Love, Garry and Lawrence. Thank you, Jesus, for the best Mom in the world! Prayers will be held on Sunday, October 1 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 2 at 10:00 a.m. at the Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Narol, MB with Rev. Fr. Jerry Telarski O.M.I. officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
