ELSIE CHOMIAK (nee - NEZIO) On Wednesday, September 27, 2000 at the Calvary Place Personal Care Home, Winnipeg, Man., Elsie, dear wife of the late Paul Chomiak, peacefully slipped away into the Lords presence at the age of 88 years, of Winnipeg, Man. Elsie was born on March 24, 1912 in Komarno, Man., to her parents, Anton and Eva Nezio, who immigrated to Canada from Poland in 1900. She was raised, along with six other sisters, on the homestead farm in Komarno. After working in Toronto for some years, she married Paul and moved to a farm just north of Winnipeg. Here, Elsie partnered with her husband to establish a successful farm business through hard work and sacrifice, while consistently extending the hand of hospitality to family, friends and neighbors alike. Elsie and Paul retired from the farm in 1990 and lived in Teulon, Man. until 1992 and then in Winnipeg Personal Care Homes. Remaining to forever cherish Elsies memory are her daughter Rita Burkard (Rod) and their daughter Hope, and son Richard Chomiak (Judi) and their children, Stacey and Cody. Elsies Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 30 at 1:00 p.m., in the Buntain Chapel in the Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave St., at Cumberland Avenue, with Pastor Bruce Logan officiating. A reception will follow immediately and for those who wish, Elsies interment will then follow in Pleasant Home Cemetery, Teulon, Man. Our family would like to express a sincere thanks to the caring staff of the Calvary Place Personal Care Home. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Elsies memory to the Ministry of Calvary Temple Youth Camp, in care of The Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave St., Winnipeg, Man.
