Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPOLLY (PARASKA) GULENCHYN 1901 - 2000 Peacefully, after a lengthy illness Polly passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2000 at the Whitemouth District Health Centre, at the age of 99 and one-half years. Polly was born on February 28, 1901 in Austria, Povit Borschiew, Celo Germakivka and came to Canada in 1917. Following her marriage to Tom Gulenchyn in 1930, they settle in Elma, MB, where they farmed. Following the death of her husband Tom, she remained in her own for 13 years. In 1987 following hospitalization and surgery due to a fall while working in her garden, being unable to return to her own home, she spent her remaining years at the Whitemouth District Health Centre. Polly Gulenchyn was predeceased by her loving husband Tom in 1974; a son Vladimir in 1932; her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Ivaniw, brother Peter; sisters Lisa and Ann in Austria; and Maria Dak in California. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews including her special nephew Tony Gulenchyn of Elma, MB who took care of all her needs and visited her faithfully at the hospital. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, October 3 at 7:00 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. #1 East at Navin Road. Funeral Liturgy will be held on Wednesday, October 4 at 11:00 a.m. in the Elma Ukrainian Catholic Church, Elma, MB. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery.
