MARIE-PAULE (PAULETTE) BLANCHETTE (nee LAVACK) Peacefully, on Saturday, September 30, 2000, at St. Boniface Hospital, with her family at her side, Paulette went to the Lord, at the age of 77. Her memory will be cherished forever by her devoted husband of 54 years, Aurele (Bud) her children: Gerald (Donna) of Regina, Roger (Stephanie), Suzanne (Richard) Bourrier, Norma (Claude) Brunel, all of Winnipeg; her grandchildren: Shauna Blanchette, Christopher (Natasha) Blanchette, Amie (Patrick) Jackson, Nicole Bourrier and Daniel Bourrier; her great-grandchildren: Jeremy, Scott, Sarah, Heather and Rachael; her sisters: Emma Phaneuf (San Diego), Annette Delaquis and Rita Gendreau (Edmonton) her brothers Jean (Jeanne), George of Ottawa and Raynald (Beatrice). She was predeceased by her parents Georges and Marie-Louise Lavack, her brother Lewis and her sister Georgette. Marie-Paule was born in Ste. Anne, Manitoba on October 28, 1922. She spent her early years in Richer and then Ste. Anne where she met Aurele. They were married on February 19, 1946 and spent their many happy years together in Winnipeg. Mom and Dad loved to travel and shared many adventures together. Paulette was a devoted and loving wife and mother and her sunny disposition and kindness endeared her to all who knew her. Mom and Dad provided a warm and loving home filled with laughter and joy. Their example has made for a very close-knit family that enjoyed many happy times together. The family would like to thank Dr. D. Bowman for his many years of care and concern. We also appreciated the wonderful care provided by the many homecare workers through the Winnipeg Regional Health authority and the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, October 3 at 7:00 p.m. at the Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons Street. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 4 at 10:30 a.m. at the Precieux-Sang Roman Catholic Church, 200 Kenny Street, presided by Father Marcel Chaput. Interment to follow at Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marie-Paules memory to Cancer Care Manitoba.
