OREST RAYMOND GAWALKO It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Orest Raymond Gawalko, on Thursday, September 28, 2000 at the age of 46 years. Orest will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his beloved wife of 25 years, Dianne; daughter Jennifer; son Matthew; mother Mary; brother Eugene and wife Susan; nephews, Kevin and Ryan; the Betesta family; special friend, Frederica Anton and her family; as well as numerous relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Roman. Orest was born in Winnipeg on February 5, 1954. He attended River East Collegiate and Red River Community College. Orest was employed in the trucking industry for many years and recently became part owner of T. Kittner Trucking. He enjoyed music, hockey and especially spending time with his family. There will be many fond memories of the times spent at their cottage at Redditt, Ontario. Orest touched many lives with his smile, sense of humour and his gentle personality. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, October 3, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 455 Douglas Avenue. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 4, at 10:00 a.m. also at St. Anne Parish with Rt. Rev. Canon Walter Klimchuk officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Evanchuk, Ken LaPointe, Brad Krulicki, Garth Wyrchowny, Larry Gel and Eugene Gel. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations may be made in Orests memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, Man., R3B 2H8.
