ALEC ADRIAN MOODY Suddenly on Thursday, September 28th, 2000 Alec passed away at the age of 78 years old. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter Jan Dowling (Jim), sister Jeanne Jenkins of Yeovil, Somerset, England and several nieces and nephews. Alec was predeceased his parents Frederick and Florence Moody and his wife Nora. Alec was born on May 23, 1922 in Bath, Somerset, England. He joined the Royal Air Force and was posted to Carberry, Manitoba as an armour instructor; this is where he met Nora. They returned to England where they were married in 1945, shortly after that he was posted to Germany and served on the bomb disposal unit. Upon his return they moved to Winnipeg in 1951 where he gained employment with the Manitoba Telephone System until his retirement in 1982. Alec was a member of the Ancient Landmark Lodge for 40 years and the Scottish Rite for 25 years. He was an active member of the Alzheimer Support even after the passing of his wife Nora. He was a devoted caregiver for the last 12 years to his wife Nora until her recent passing. He was a private and proud man, who was always willing to help others and asked nothing in return. Alec enjoyed listening to his music (the Pipes and Drums were his favourite), reading any books relating to the Army, Navy or Airforce and especially ships. His recent hobby was bird watching from his favourite chair. He especially enjoyed spending time with his 4 legged granddaughter Ashley. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 5th at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue.
