Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLES KARL KLIPPEL May 2, 1910 - October 2, 2000 The Lord took our father, grandfather and great-grandfather gently home to rest on Monday, October 2nd at 12:30 a.m. He spent a most delightful day with his precious great-grandchildren, Kendra and Ashley, his grandchildren, Brenda and Brent Danielson and his children, Douglas and Lorraine. He spoke by telephone with his grandchildren, Glen and Michelle Klippel of Idaho and his grandson David (Jackie and Brittani) of Winnipeg. Every night at 9:30 p.m. he would talk things over with his sister Ella Foxon of Winnipeg. He is also survived by his sister Tee Sailor and brother Bill of Winnipeg, his brother Edward of California and their families. He is also remembered by his sisters-in-law, Gladys McIvor of Winnipeg and Lois Peterson of California, his brother-in-law Roy Nesby of Winnipeg and their families. Our father and grandfather was a loving and caring person, always putting his family foremost. He was especially proud to spend a lot of time with his great-grandchildren and they loved him. He was most grateful to have had a special 90th Birthday Party with all of his family present, plus good friends, Elsie Arnold, Lori Grudeski, Bryan and Elaine Kramble, Trudy and Harry Darichuk. He delighted us with stories of his experience with the CNR as a locomotive engineer from which he retired on January 17th, 1970. "The Last Ride" was given to him at his party. Grandpa enjoyed his retirement of 30 years. He kept in touch with his old friends. He loved the outdoors and especially loved his family get-togethers. With respect to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A special thanks to Dr. Pederson and Mia of St. Vital Clinic for their special care of Grandpa. A Memorial service of remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 5th at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 401 Kildare Avenue West, Transcona. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for the Elevator Fund or to the Humane Society. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
