Date of Passing: Oct 02, 2000
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDANIEL MICHAEL KRATZER Peacefully, with his family at his side, Daniel Michael Kratzer age 16 years, went to dance with the angels on Monday, October 2, 2000. Left to celebrate his life are Mom Yvonne, special Dad Eugene Poiron, twin sister Dawn-Marie; stepsisters Brittany, Sabrina and Jasmine Poiron; stepbrothers Matthew and Tyler Kratzer. Special Wednesday night tea time Grandparents Nanny and Grandpa Jansen; his special Tuesday evening callers Grandpa and Helga Kratzer; father Gunnar Kratzer (Lynn). Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, special friends, respite workers and his pet cat companion Private. Dan had a unique sense of humour and loved to tease and flirt. Through all the adversity and challenges in his 16 years he remained courageous and strong and never complained. He always had a joke and a smile and was ready to lend a helpful hand. Those that were fortunate enough to know Dan learned some of lifes important lessons. He taught us to be patient and strong and most importantly to accept and respect all human kind. Dan enjoyed betting pizza pops and coke on the Boston Bruins, dancing and singing to Brittany Spears and Christina Agulera, hauling fire wood with his special Dad Eugene, fishing, play station, miniature golf, horseback riding and handing out candy on Halloween. Dan so loved to have his back scratched he seemed to have a constant itch. One of Dans contributions was collecting aluminum can tabs so that other children could also benefit from special wheelchairs. ILL LEND YOU A CHILD OF MINE "Ill lend you for a little while, A child of Mine," he said "For you to love while he lives, And mourn when he is dead; It may be six or seven years, or twenty two or three, But, will you "til I call him back, take care of him for me? Hell bring his charms to gladden you, and though his stay be brief, Youll have his lovely memories As solace for your grief. I cannot promise he will stay, As all from earth return, But, there are lessons taught down there I want this child to learn, Ive looked the wide world over In my search for teachers true, And from the throngs that crowd lifes lanes, Ive selected you. Now will you give him all your love Not think the labour vain, Nor hate me when I come to call To take him back again? I fancied that I heard them say, "Dear Lord, thy will be done, For all the joy this child shall bring, The risk of grief well run; Well shower him with tenderness And love him while we may, And for the happiness weve known, Forever grateful stay. And should the angels call for him Much sooner than we planned, Well brave the bitter grief that comes, And try to understand." In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cerebral Palsy Association of Manitoba, 1060 Ellice Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3G 0C9. A private family service will be held. MacKenzie Funeral Home Stonewall in care of the arrangements.
