JUNE KRISTINE SNIFELD (nee SVEINSON) On Monday, October 2, 2000, at the Selkirk General and District Hospital after a lengthy illness, June Kristine Snifeld passed away at the age of 66 years. June will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 48 years, Albert and four children, Diane (Alf), David (Rosanne), Larry (Leanne) and Janis (Mike). Amma will be missed by her seven grandchildren, Terry (Darren), Darlene (Earl), Sherry, Kertis, Michelle, Erika and Kyle. Amma was known and loved by her seven great-grandchildren, Jesse, Tanner, Kristine, Holly, Amber, Johnathan and Jeanine. Aunty June will be remembered by her nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her infant daughter Joanne, parents Anna and Kris Sveinson and mother and father-in-law Runa and Tryggvi Snifeld. June was born in Arborg, Man., on June 22, 1934, residing in Riverton until age twelve. She then moved to Gimli where she met and married Albert in 1952, later moving to Hnausa, followed by Gimli and finally to East Selkirk where June and Albert resided for the past 40 years. She spent most of her life making her house a home, not only to her family, but to anyone who needed one. June not only devoted her life to her children, but to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will always be loved and remembered for this. It is hard to express the sadness that her passing brings, but now is the time for her to follow the ones that she has loved and lost. May she always know how much she is loved and will be missed. A private family graveside service will be held in the Gimli Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, Man., R3B 2H8.
