Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET ISABELLA ELVERA SHEA (nee FERGUSON) Following diabetic complications, Margaret Isabella Elvera Shea (nee Ferguson), beloved widow of Peter N. Shea passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Centre on Friday, September 29, 2000 and went to be with her Lord. Margaret was born on a farm near Kamsack, SK. She attended schools there and was an honor student in academics and in broad-jumping and high-jumping. She completed her education by taking an accounting course at Success Business College in Winnipeg. Employment followed at Canada Packers in Crystal City, MB and Regina, SK, the Department of National Defence (records division), Ottawa, ON and with five legal firms in Winnipeg; Tupper & Adams; Tallin & Kristjansson; Wolinsky, Liffman, Wolinsky and Wolch; Hugh B. Parker and with Falk, Thiessen & Warkentin. She married Peter Shea in 1951 and later had two children, Janetta and Philip. Her interested including cycling, photography, gardening and bowling. She was a member of the Winnipeg Horticultural Society, chairman of the Board of Stewards and of the Manse Committee and trustee of St. James United Church, Winnipeg as well as an active member of the U.C.W. there. Peter and Margaret retired to Calgary in 1987, where she was again involved with the (Calgary) Horticultural Society; the board and U.C.W. of Robert McClure United Church; an associate member of two Retired Postal Employees Associations (ARPE and Superannuates) and later a member of St. Thomas United Church and that U.C.W. Margaret will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She had a generous heart and always wanted what was best for others. She was intensely loyal in her friendships of which some were nurtured for over seventy years. Writing and receiving letters was a pleasure for her. She was predeceased by her husband Peter of 48 years this past February. She is survived by her daughter Janetta King and grandchildren Elisabeth, Charles and Katharine of Winnipeg, her son Philip of Toronto; one sister-in-law, Violet Szadorski and one brother-in-law Michael Shea of Winnipeg; five nieces, three nephews and their children and many cousins in Canada, USA, Scotland and Sweden. Funeral services will be held at Robert McClure United Church (5510-26th Avenue N.E. Calgary) on Friday, October 6 at 2:00 p.m. with The Rev. David Holmes and the Rev.
