MARY McEWEN It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of Mary McEwen in the Dauphin Personal Care Home on Monday, October 2, 2000 following a lengthy illness. Mary was born in Derbyshire, England, December 13, 1909, daughter of Joseph and Martha Spencer. The family moved to Dauphin, MB in 1914 where she resided until her death. She was predeceased by her husband Robert in 1992; three brothers, Arthur, Clifford and George Spencer; three sisters, Sarah Waite, Bertha Neill and Doris Neill. She is lovingly remembered by her son Robert and his wife Florence of Winnipeg, MB; her daughter Jean and husband Ken Westlake of Thunder Bay, ON; her sister Dorothy Pizzey of Cameron, ON; and her sister-in-law Janet Spencer of Odoway, AB. Also left to cherish her memory are five grandchildren; Susan and husband Robert Brennand of Winnipeg, MB, Ross and wife Angela of Edmonton, AB; Betty, Barbara and Beverly of Thunder Bay, ON; four great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild, as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends too numerous to mention individually. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 6 at 2:30 p.m. in the Riverside-Evergreen Funeral Chapel, Riverside Road, Dauphin, MB., with Rev. Paul Crossland officiating and interment in the Riverside Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mrs. McEwen may be made by contributions to the Dauphin Regional Health Centre or to St. Pauls Anglican Church. The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the staff of the Dauphin Personal Care Home for their kind understanding, loving and professional care. "and life is eternal and love is immortal and death is only a horizon and a horizon is nothing save the limit of our own sight." The Riverside-Evergreen Funeral Chapel have care of the arrangements.
