MINNIE WEBER (nee LEATHERDALE) Peacefully, on October 2, 2000 at Parkwood Home in Waterloo, Ontario, Minnie Weber, at the age of 89. Predeceased by her beloved husband Andrew in 1979. Survived by her dear daughters Joan Kilgour (Marc) and Ruth Russell (Delbert), both of Kitchener, Ontario; and by four granddaughters: Susan Russell and her fiance Yves Filion of Toronto; Jocelyn Russell of Kingston; Valerie Kilgour of Kingston; Julia Kilgour at home. Minnie was born March 23, 1911, in the Leatherdale family home north of Morden, Manitoba, the youngest of 9 brothers and sisters, with an older half-brother and half-sister. All have predeceased her, with the exception of Russell Leatherdale and his wife Kay of Morden, and one sister-in-law, Alice Leatherdale of Darlingford. Of Minnies two beloved older sisters, Eva died in 1997, and Nellie predeceased her only by weeks, on September 8, 2000. She is also survived by her brother-in-law and his wife, John and Clara Weber of Maple Ridge, B.C. and by her sister-in-law Ruth Weber of Winnipeg. Minnie was educated at Morden High School and Success Business College in Winnipeg, and on January 11, 1940, was married to Andrew Weber at Red Lake, Ontario. She and Andrew lived in Madsen, Ontario, a mining community in the Red Lake district, until Andrews retirement as Master Mechanic in 1974. In those happy years Minnie was devoted to her home and family, a proud mother of Joan and Ruth, a true friend, a faithful member of the United Church, and a keen bridge-player. After Andrews death in 1979, Minnie moved to Morden, and in 1994, relocated to the Kitchener-Waterloo area where her daughters live. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held on Friday, October 6 at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home in Waterloo, with Rev. Elizabeth Eberhart-Moffat of Parkminster United Church officiating. Interment will follow in 2001 at Hillside Cemetery, Morden, Manitoba, beside Andrew.
