MORRIS CHUBEY February 29, 1928- October 2, 2000 It is with great sadness that the family of Morris Chubey announces his death on October 2, 2000 at the age of 72 years. Morris was born on the family farm in Rosa, MB, where he farmed until his death. He was predeceased by his parents, Katherine (Diduk) and Nazarko Chubey, his brothers, John, Jack and Fred, his sister Lily Capek (Kohut), three brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law and one nephew. Left to treasure memories of Morris warm heart, laughter, and keen sense of humour are his brothers, Dan, Sam (Mary) and Bert (Sally) Chubey; his sisters Anne Cummings and Audrey (Al) Johannesson; his sisters-in-law Helen and Helena Chubey and numerous other family and friends. Although he never had children of his own, Morris was a wise and patient teacher to his 27 nephews and nieces who will always cherish the time spent on his farm. This farm on which he was raised remains a central family meeting place and was recently the site of a family wedding. Morris was a lifetime member of St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church where he served as Church Elder, Treasurer and Groundskeeper. His championship Charolais cattle were Morris pride and joy. He received numerous awards for his Charolais bulls and a special acknowledgement for his 25 years of membership of the Canadian Charolais Association. Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, October 4 at 7:00 p.m. at the Loewen Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB. Funeral Service will be held at the St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Rosa, MB on Thursday, October 5 at 10:00 a.m. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, a donation in Morris memory can be made to the St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Rosa, MB. Arrangements entrusted to Loewen Funeral Chapel of Steinbach.
