ANNE HANISCHUK (nee BOYECHKO) It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Mom, Baba, Big Baba, on Monday, October 2, 2000, at Health Sciences Centre at the age of 74. Mom is lovingly remembered by her devoted family, sons, Roger (Heidi), Greg (Darlene) and daughter Eunice (Dennis) grandchildren, Shawn (Carol), Tara, Dale, Julie, Lindsay (Kevin), Rachael, Adrien, Shelley and Justin; great-grandchildren, Austin, Kaitlyn and Kade. She is also survived by her sisters, Tillie, Mary, Stella; brothers, Nick, Mike, Tom, Bill, Harry and Paul. She was predeceased by her husband Harry in July 1997, as well as by her dad, mom and sister Lena. Mom worked for many years as a presser and dedicated much of her spare time to volunteer work in the Brooklands Community. Numerous awards were received for her efforts. She was able to take an early retirement and to spend much of her free time at the cottage in Spruce Sands where she was commonly known as "Baba Annie." Her favourite pastime was playing bingo and occasionally winning. Her home, cottage and freezer were open to all who knew her. Prayers will be held On Thursday, October 5, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 6, at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Luxton Avenue. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shawn Hanischuk, Kevin Delaine, Dave, Wade and Ed Boyechko and Pat Werestiuk. All those in attendance may consider themselves as honorary pallbearers. The family would like to express their thanks to those who were able to visit her which made her final days much brighter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, Man., R3C 0S6.
