EVELYN GOLFMAN It is with great sadness and deep sorrow that this announcement be made of the passing of Evelyn Golfman, on October 4, 2000, at the Health Sciences Centre, at the age of 88. She is survived by son Clayton; daughter Gwen; sister Shirley and sister-in-law Margaret; four grandchildren, Robin, Melody, Marc (Emma) and Douglas; five great-grandchildren, Jessica, Vanessa, Nicole, Shane and Stephanie; six nieces and nephews; numerous cousins and many friends. After many years of service for the Hudson Bay House, she retired and had time for the many enjoyments in her life. She was a life member of the Canadian Germany Society where her and her friends gathered often to visit and have a good time. The love of bowling and curling kept her active for many years. Traveling was another one of her passions, and no matter where she went, her "Daily Word" was always with her. But most of all she loved her music, where her records brought her many hours of enjoyment. At her request cremation has already taken place and no formal service will be held. Special thanks to the doctors and staff at both the Seven Oaks Hospital and the Health Sciences Centre H-3 Wing for their care and compassion; also to the Chaplins and ministers from the Health Sciences Centre and the Unity Church of Winnipeg for their visits - they meant a lot to her. Also special thanks to Pat from Homecare. In lieu of flowers donations in Evelyns memory may be made to The Pacemaker Clinic Trust, 791 Notre Dame Ave., Winnipeg, Man., R3E 0M1. 787-1911. Miss me - But Let me go When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom-filled room Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, but not too long And not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared Miss me - but let me go. For this is a journey we all must take And each must go alone, Its all a part of the Masters Plan A step on the road to home. So when you are lonely and sick at heart Go to the friends we know, And bury your sorrow in doing good deeds Miss me - but let me go. Dear Lord Put Your arms around her, Hold her in Your tender care Make up to her for all she suffered And all she had to bear. She went through so much in silence, Her spirits didnt bend, She faced her pain with courage Until the very end. It broke our hearts to lose her But she didnt go alone, For part of us went with her The day God called her home.
