WILLIAM B. MALCHY (BILL) On September 21, 2000 at the age of 91, Bill Malchy passed away after having lived a full life. Bill was predeceased by his sister Sara; and his brothers, Bert and Louis. He was also predeceased by his beloved wife Elanore (Nony). He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Naneve (Michael) Hawke and Melissa (Richard) Rice, and their daughters, Nikki and Ellie Hawke and Danielle, Aimee and Brynn Rice. Bill will be remembered by his wonderful and devoted friend Molly Secter. Bill also leaves to mourn his niece and nephews. Bill was the founder of Malchy Grain Company. He retired at the age of 86 but the company continues to carry on his traditions to this day. Bill was a member of the Winnipeg Commodity Exchange, Mount Sinai Lodge and the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue. Bill will be remembered for his tenacity and determination in business as well as his devotion and caring for his family. Funeral Services were held on September 24 at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Abe Globerman, Ben Grushko, Izzy Krongold, Benson Labinsky, David Malchy and Sam Wilder. Special thanks to Monica who cared for Bill and allowed him to maintain his sense of dignity in spite of his general decline. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
