Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERT ATAMANCHUK (WALLY) Peacefully after a lengthy illness with cancer, on October 4, 2000, Albert passed away at the age of 66. Albert leaves to cherish his memory his eight children, Bernice (Dennis) Olson of Okotoks, Alta., Bill (Fiorella), Mary (Don), Sonny, Dave (Mariette), Mike (Diane), Greg (Jodi) of Winnipeg and Debbie (fiance Rob) of Calgary, Alta., also by his eight grandchildren, Joseph, Johnny, Jessica, Ashley, Corey, Kaitlin, Evan, Robert and one great-grandchild Dawson. He is survived by one brother Myron (Darlene) of Alberta and six sisters, Jean Chony of Ontario, Vicky (Bud) of Watson, Sask., Lavina Chambers of Ontario, Rose Kinaschuk of British Columbia, Betty Vandanemeele (Ray) of British Columbia, Helen (Frank) of Presiloski, Sask., also numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Albert was predeceased by his wife Doreen (Prokopowich) on March 2, 1995; his parents William on February 28, 1967, and Katherine on July 17, 1981. He was also predeceased by his brothers from Manitoba, John and Tony, Walter of British Columbia and Eddie of Ontario. Albert was born on January 8, 1934, in Gilbert Plains, Man. He met Joyce Doreen Prokopowich and married in 1956 in Dauphin and then moved to Winnipeg to raise their children. He was a devoted husband, father, gigi and caring friend. He owned and operated Wallys Auto Body Shop in Winnipeg for over 30 years. He was then employed by Janico Industries for one year before taking ill. He had a love for hunting and fishing and enjoyed going to the casino whenever he could. Dad was an avid wrestling fan. He enjoyed gardening and the great outdoors. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and was blessed by his first great-grandchild. He was one to enjoy life to the fullest. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 7, at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jim Atamanchuk, Dennis Atamanchuk, Pat Furkalo, Doug Somack, Joseph Atamanchuk and Dennis Olson. Alberts family would like to thank all the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of their choice. We love you Dad, and we will all miss you very much.
