Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE WILLIS 1911 - 2000 With deep sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother on Wednesday, October 4, 2000 at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg. Anne left us peacefully in the early morning hours at the age of 88 years, with her family nearby. She was our beloved Mother and Grandmother (Bonna) and we will forever cherish the many great memories that she left with us. Anne was born in Pleasant Home, Man. on December 24, 1911. She grew up on her familys homestead with her parents, two brothers and three sisters. It was here that she learned the value of family, hard work and honesty, characteristics that made her the person we so dearly loved. In the early 1930s Anne moved to Winnipeg seeking employment. Soon after she married her beloved husband Raymond whom she had met growing up in the Interlake area. Together they started a family. Anne was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed the simpler things in life and took pride in her cooking, delicious baking, sewing, knitting and gardening. But more than anything, she loved her family. Anne had a unique sense of humour and never lost her sharp wit, she was also a great storyteller. We loved her smile, her gentle touch and the way she made us laugh. She will be remembered as a warm, caring and generous person who was always willing to help those in need. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Larry of Kamloops, BC, Lindsay of Winnipeg; daughters, Peggy (Jim) Young of Winnipeg and Gladys (Rainer) Wagner of St. Albert, AB; and her 10 grandchildren, Russell, Kelly, Ryan, Chris, Clayton, Neal, Melvin (Shanwda), Candice, Bobbi, Wendy; and one great-granddaughter Lauren. She also leaves behind her sisters, Rose Michaelis of Lethbridge, AB and Ellen Opperman (Len) of Comox, BC; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband Raymond Henry Willis (1984) grandson Gavin; mother Tekla and father William Biluk; her brothers, John and Mike Biluk and sister Mary Schram. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 7 at 10:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home. Interment to follow in the Wakefield Cemetery. Annes pallbearers will be Russell Young, Kelly Young, Ryan Young, Christopher Young, Clayton Wagner and Bobbi Willis. Our family would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to all of the wonderful nurses and care givers at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, especially to Mickey, Marie, Pat, Angie and Joanne for being so kind and compassionate to Anne (Mrs. Willis) throughout her illness. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, a donation may be made in memory of Anne Willis to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
