GLADYS LILLIAN MACKUS It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Gladys Mackus, age 84, on Tuesday, October 3, 2000 at the Seven Oaks General Hospital. Gladys was predeceased by her husband Henry; her father George; her mother Lavina; her brothers, Ted, Archie, Clarence, Edgar, Victor; and her sisters, Eva, Lizabeth, Nellie, Pearl, Caroline, Ruth and Gertrude. Remaining to forever cherish her memory is her son Ray (Diane), grandchildren Derek, Ryan and Kelly, and numerous relatives and friends. Gladys was born in Winnipeg in 1916. She married Henry in 1941. They farmed in West St. Paul for 21 years. Upon the demise of her husband in 1967, she moved to Eriksdale, Manitoba, where she was an active member of the Royal Canadian Ladies Auxiliary Branch No. 140 for 11 years. She moved back to Winnipeg in 1982 and resided at the Bluebird Lodge Annex and the Carriage House North and was presently living with her family in West St. Paul. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 10 at 2:00 p.m. at the Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald with Reverend C. MacMillan officiating. A viewing will be held at 1:30 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will take place in the Brookside Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 11. The Mackus Family would like to thank staff at the Seven Oaks General Hospital for the care they gave Mom. Donations may be made in Gladys memory to the Eriksdale Canadian Legion, No. 140, Eriksdale, Manitoba, R0C 0W0. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements, 775-2220.
