GARY HOLT With profound sadness we announce the passing of Gary Holt, age 46, of Winnipeg. He leaves to mourn his beloved family, wife Sara (Bernath) children Jonathan, David, Rachel and Carly; his parents Molly and Bill Holt; his brother Murray Holt; sister Susie Holt-Ginden; nieces Laura and Jamie Holt and nephews Joey and Benji Rothman. As well, Gary leaves many dear friends and colleagues whose lives were enriched by his presence. Following a year of study at Yeshiva University in Jerusalem, Gary graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) from the University of Manitoba. He became a Chartered Accountant and joined the family business, Industrial Metals, in 1979. His unparalleled integrity as a businessman gained him the respect and friendship of the many people he encountered in the scrap metal industry. Garys dedication to his faith and to the synagogue was tireless. His example instilled in his family the highest moral values, which they carry on. His greatest pride and joy were his children. He revelled in their exceptional academic achievements and artistic talents. Gary was a kind, decent, gentle, honest, trusting and faithful friend. We treasure every moment he was with us. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 3 at the Herzlia Synagogue and Shaarey Zedek Cemetery. Pallbearers were his dearest and closest friends, Frank Lavitt, Lewis Rosenberg, Mitch Cosman, David Greenberg, Steven Rosenfield and brother-in-law Jeff Ginden. In honour of Garys unforgettable life, donations will be gratefully accepted by Herzlia Adas Yeshurun Synagogue, 620 Brock Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3N OZ4 or Cancer Care Manitoba, P.O. Box 2248, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 4A6. Go in peace Gary. You enhanced every life you touched. We miss you. We love you. Your Family and Friends.
