Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEPHIE A. MAZUR (nee ZACK) Peacefully, in the evening, on Thursday, October 5, 2000 Stephie, age 74, passed away at the Grace Hospital. Stephie was born in Libau and raised in Allegra, Manitoba where she attended school. Upon her marriage to Nick, they moved to Winnipeg where they raised their family. Always an industrious person, she worked at Gaspards and then at Sears Polo Park and Garden City, but all the time keeping her family first in her heart. After retiring from Sears, Stephie enjoyed many winter vacations in Florida and the Rio Grand valley in Texas. Mom loved to cook and many people will always remember her for her delicious perogies, cabbage rolls and beet leaf buns which she gave away freely. No gathering was too large for Mom, she always prepared more than was needed. Her vegetable garden was her pride and joy. Each and every spring it was a competition for Mom to be the first person in the neighborhood to have her garden planted. She so loved to be the one to have the first tomato or cucumber on the vine. Once the garden was harvested, her generous nature was demonstrated when more than half was given away to those not fortunate enough to have their own gardens. Mom liked to keep her hands busy, so when she wasnt cooking or gardening, she was knitting. Many friends and family members are much warmer on winter nights because of the afghans Mom so generously gave away. Mom also loved to play cards and Mexican Train Dominos and spent numerous evenings playing with both family and friends. Stephie was predeceased by her parents, Michaelina and Anton Zack, her brothers Mike, Dan and Paul, and her precious granddaughter Kimberly. Left to treasure memories of Stephie are her loving and devoted husband of 54 years, Nick; her sons Lawrence (Stephanie) and Allan (Kathy), and grandchildren Tamika (Rob), Nicholas (and Moms special helper Nicole). She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Therese, Lena, and Julie, son Bobbie, daughter Mary and grandchildren Shannon, Bobbie, Christopher and Stacy. Funeral Service for Stephie will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. in Deer Lodge United Church, 2093 Portage Avenue at Belvidere Street. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in Stephies memory may be made to the Grace General Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Dr., Wpg, MB, R3J 3M7.
