MITCH MEHYDEN Surrounded by family at his bed side, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and dad, Mitch Mehyden on Saturday, October 7, 2000. Mitch will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Donna and his three children, sons, Jamey and Brent (his friend Nicole) and daughter Lori (her friend Jon) of California. Also three sisters, Ollie Bojdak (Frank) of Niagara Falls, Cathy Kerr (Ken) and Annette Looman; brother-in-law Jack Pelzer (Linda) and several nieces and nephews. Mitch was predeceased by his parents, William and Mary Mehyden and his in-laws, Jack and Lydia Pelzer. Mitch was born on November 12, 1942 in Ethelbert, Man. He came to Winnipeg in 1961 where he was employed with the CNR in numerous departments before retiring in 1995, after 34 years of loyal service. He met and married Donna in 1967. Mitch was a nurturing family man who loved nature and all of its beauty. Many hours of love were spent creating his dream water front home at Lee River, where he enjoyed bird watching, fishing and BBQing. Just as he loved watching his children grow, gardening was also a great passion. His love of living things, his sensitivity, kindness and sense of humour will be greatly missed by many. Funeral service will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, McCalman and Grey Street, on Wednesday, October 11 at 10:30 with Pastor Richard Kruesel officiating. Viewing is one half hour before service. Interment will take place at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family wishes to thank the wonderful doctors and nurses for all their tender-loving-care at both the Concordia and St. Boniface Hospitals over the last few weeks. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, (Manitoba Division), 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7. NEIL BARDAL INC 949-2200
