JOSEPH MALINSKY Peacefully on October 6, 2000 at the Betel Home, Selkirk, Joseph Malinsky, aged 86 years, formerly of Meadowdale, Man. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, October 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 11 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Annes Roman Catholic Church, Petersfield, with Fr. Boguslaw Wardzinski officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery. Joe was born in Czechoslovakia on June 5, 1914, son of the late Joseph and Francis Malinsky. He came to Canada in 1937 and settled in Meadowdale, Man. where he farmed with his parents until their passing. He continued farming until 1982 and had also worked as a male orderly at St. Josephs Personal Care Home for 13 years. Besides being a conscientious farmer, Joe was also a prominent well diviner, finding many wells in the area and as far away as Melita, Man. and parts of Saskatchewan and California. Joe was an extremely kind and caring man who gave help to many Czech people coming to Canada, as well as helping his neighbours. His honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Donohoe, John Vitt, Joe Kamer, Clarence Pricthard, Walter Staska and Bruno Janowski. His active pallbearers will be Blake Morrison, Gary and Albert Roy, Macklin and Curtis McRae, and Adolf Regier. Special thanks to John Vitt for being such a great friend and to the staff at Betel Home for all their care and concern. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg R3C 2B7. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
