MARION "ELINOR" HARRIS March 1, 1916 - October 8, 2000 Peacefully, on Sunday, October 8, 2000, at the age of 84 years, Mom passed away. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters, Barbara (Brian) Sloik, Ruth Matthews, Arline (Ben) Hughes, Marilyn Everett (Brian Forbes) and son Errol (Donna) Harris, as well as 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Mom will fondly be remembered for her love of music, artistic talents, especially her clowns for the Shriners, the design of her doll clothes and her culinary talents. Mom always loved a good joke. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack in December 1999 and her adopted daughter, Bernice in January 1999. Memorial service will be held at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel, 56 Royal Road S., Portage la Prairie, Man. on Friday, October 13 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Leith Saunders officiating. As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in moms memory to the Childrens Wish Foundation of Canada, P.O. Box 1106, Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, R1N 3C5 or to: CE 501, 840 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3A 1S1 "Gone but not forgotten." A tree will be planted and cared for in memory of Elinor at Evergreen Memorial Gardens by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel, who are entrusted with the arrangements.
