JERRY MEDWID After a courageous brief struggle with cancer, with his family by his side, peacefully on Thursday, October 5, 2000, Jerry Medwid passed away at the age of 56. Jerry will be lovingly remembered by his wife Darlene; daughters, Linda, Barb, Joanne and son-in-law Alan Seguin; mother-in-law Stella Demedash; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Gloria Demedash; brothers and sisters, Joyce Stephenson (Roy), Stella Dalgleish (Stan) of St. Catherines, Ont., Elsie Kirychuk (John) of Kamloops, B.C., Jean Walker (Lewif), Cecil Medwid of Red Deer, Alta., Don Medwid (Irene), Richard Medwid (Jennie), Shirley Clairmont (Eldon) of Salmon Arm, B.C., May Strilchic (John) of Thompson, Man., Victor Medwid (Maureen) of Teulon, Man., Stan (Charlie) Medwid of Calgary, Alta.; sister-in-law Joyce Medwid; brother-in-law Bill Kowalchuk; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jerry was predeceased by his parents, Steve and Alice Medwid (Zooke) brother Ed Medwid; sister Anne Kowalchuk and father-in-law Bill Demedash. With many years in the transport industry with Kingsway and Kindersley, Jerrys professionalism and sense of humour touched the hearts of the many people he knew. Mere words cannot express our deepest appreciation to Dr. Gorski, Dr. Mihalcioiu and Nurse Jayne, Dr. Ahmed and the Manitoba Cancer Care Chemotherapy and Radiation Treatment Staff. The family also wishes to thank nurse Barb Pyszczek at Concordia Hospital for her compassionate care for our Dad and family during his final hours. "It broke our hearts to lose him but he didnt go alone for part of us went with him the day God called him home." In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, October 13 at 7:00 p.m. for family and friends at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. with Rev. Father Kowch officiating. In lieu of flowers, should family and friends desire, donations can be made to the Manitoba Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation in memory of Jerry Medwid.
