ELIZABETH (BETTY) LIBLING 1906 - 2000 Elizabeth Libling passed away peacefully at the Sharon Home on Saturday, October 7, 2000. Betty was born in Russia and came to Winnipeg with her parents (Adas) and five sisters. She was married to William (Bill) Libling in 1928 and they lived in Winnipeg until 1957 when they moved to Los Angeles. She returned to Winnipeg in 1988. Betty was a selfless, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed. She was predeceased by her husband; son Hugh and sisters, Marion Herman, Chauna Zaretsky, Milly Rubin and Anne Slonim. She is survived by her son Gerald and wife Reisa; grandchildren, Martin (Julia) and Michele; great-grandchildren, Katie and Adam; daughter-in-law Susan and grandchildren William, Solly and Max. She is also survived by her sister Peggy Warsaw and dear friend Mia Nimchonok. Services took place on Tuesday, October 10 graveside at Bnai Abraham Cemetery with Rabbi Green of Shaarey Zedek Synagogue presiding. Pallbearers were Burton Bass, Mort Greenberg, Dave Levin, Sid Slonim, Morley Slonim and Martin Ringer. Donations may be made to the Sharon Home, where she received kind and loving care.
