EDWIN LAURIE On October 8th, 2000 peacefully at his residence, Extendicare Oakview Place, Mr. Edwin (Ed) Laurie, aged 95 years went to his well-earned rest. Ed is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Grace & Larry Hoskin and their family, Kristyn and Dan Hercina, Brent and Ruth Hoskin and great-granddaughter Ashley, Sean and Lyette Hoskin and his daughter Bonnies family, Michael Belliveau, James and Joanne Belliveau, Lisa Hiebert and great-granddaughter Brynn Finnimore, Kerri and Jerry Comeau and great-grandchildren Patrick and Lisa. Ed was predeceased by his beloved wife Roberta, sister Eleanor Creak (Queenie), brother Bert Laurie, daughter Bonnie Belliveau and son-in-law Amos Belliveau. Ed worked for many years with Winnipeg Transit. His true passion in life was barbershop harmony and fans of the Fort Garry Four and the Merry Morticians will remember his great bass voice. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, October 13, from Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with Padre Stan Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens and a reception will take place at the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to dads favourite barbershop chorus "The Happy Homesteaders", c/o Mr. Don Walker, 1121-700 Setter Street, Winnipeg, MB R2Y 0L5 to help carry on their wonderful charitable work.
