ARON G. PENNER Peacefully, Aron Penner, beloved husband of Linda, passed away on October 5, 2000 in his 74th year at Linden, Alberta. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by Linda, his devoted wife of 46 years; children Ron and wife Marcella, Gail, Dean and wife Carolyn, Abe and wife Liz, and Ivan; grandchildren: Blaine, Craig, Jenee, Jordan, Shannon, Nicole and Christopher; brothers and sisters: Harvey and wife Edna Penner, Lean, Neil and wife Esther Penner and Elma and husband Robert Toews; sisters-in-law: Nettie Penner and Mary Penner; and one brother-in-law Dan and wife Mary Reimer. He is predeceased by sons: Keith, Byron and Johnny, his parents Abraham and Aganetha Penner and six brothers and one sister. Aron was born March 11, 1926 to Abraham and Aganetha Penner near present day landmark where he continued to live for the next 70 years of life. In his 14th year, he gave his life to the Lord. He married Linda Isaac on June 23, 1954. They had eight children: seven sons and one daughter. In 1964, they were in a train accident and lost three sons. Dad enjoyed his four grandsons and three granddaughters. He was a partner in a lumber business with his brother Allen in his early years and eventually went into earth moving on his own and later with his sons which he really enjoyed. During the early years many winters were spent in the bush sawing lumber. Many fond friends and memories were formed during this time. Dad was also a farmer for most of his life. He especially viewed his chicken farming as a challenge. Dad enjoyed nature, including trees and flowers. We have special memories from the last summer of his life, when we went looking for wild flowers he remembered from his youth and when we viewed the flowers at the English Gardens. Dad was not too ready to buy flowers, but when driving down the road, he kept one eye on traffic and the other on the ditch and if he spotted a special flower was happy to stop the car, walk into the ditch and pick it. The family would like to thank Dr. Lemoine and the nurses at Ste. Anne Hospital for the care and compassion they showed to Dad during his illness. Memorial services will be held at Prairie Rose Evangelical Mennonite Church at Landmark at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2000. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to: Birchwood Funeral Chapel 150 Penfeld Drive Steinbach, Manitoba 1-204-346-1030
