WENDY ARLENE URNIEZIUS (YOUNG)
Date of Passing: Oct 11, 2000
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWENDY ARLENE URNIEZIUS (nee YOUNG) It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother and sister, Wendy Urniezius, on October 11, 2000, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Wendy leaves to cherish her memory her son Chris (Janis) her daughter Tara and brothers Jim (Wanda) and Bill (Leslie) as well as many relatives and friends. Wendy was predeceased by her father Bill, mother Olga and sister-in-law Petra. Wendys passion in life were her two children and her love of nursing. She spent endless hours chauffeuring her children around to numerous sporting events. Caring and providing needs for others was her calling. The family would like to thank the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital for their excellent care and compassion. A special thank you goes out to the Urniezius family for their love and support. Our thanks also go to Wendys coworkers, with an extended thanks to special friends, Sylvia and Kathy. A celebration of Wendys life will take place Saturday, October 14 at 11:00 a.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, donations in Wendys memory made to the Manitoba Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, MB R3E 9Z9, would be appreciated. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.

It's almost been 12 years since you've been away, sooooo much has changed in my life, so many things that I would have loved to have shared with you. I explained to my oldest son yesterday what his middle name meant, it is WAY, as in Wendy Arlene Young, you would just love him. We were looking at your nursing grad photo and asked him who was in the photo and he said "Auntie Tara". I have two boys, one is 6 tomorrow and the other is a giant 2.5 years, their names are Kasen and Gavin. You would have been the best Grandma around, that is what hurts me the most, the fact my boys will not have the chance to feel the love you undoubtedly would have lavished them with. Knowing that you are watching over us gives me comfort, I think of you every day, miss ya Mom. - Posted by: Chris (Son) on: Aug 06, 2012
