Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMILDRED (PEGGY) OLIVE CRATE May 17, 1926 - October 11, 2000 Surrounded by her family, it is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our wife, mom, sister, grandma and great-grandma at Holy Family Nursing Home on October 11, 2000. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Doug which they would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary, November 16, 2000. Her six children, David Rehn (Linda) of Calgary, Alta., Mary-Anne Perry (Cliff), Bonnie McLean (Al), Douglas Jr. (Lucie), Barb Shapiro (Aron) all of Winnipeg; as well as 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Sisters, Frances Johnson (Norm), Jean Wilson both of Estevan, Sask., Ruth Lees (Johnny), Redcliffe, Alta. and Amy Hiebert, Niverville, Man.; as well as many in-laws, nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by both parents and daughters, Dorie and Jeannie and grandson Raymond. Peggy worked for many years but spent most of her career managing Western Egg and Bittner Brothers Welding from where she retired, making many friends along the way. Peggy lived most of her adult life in Weston where she and Doug raised their family, moving to Ashbury Place Apts. in 1995. Most recently she moved to Holy Family Nursing Home in April of this year, where she enjoyed the many visits from those who knew and loved her. Peggy enjoyed Bingo, playing cards and watching/coaching the Blue Jays. She especially loved celebrating holidays and our many family gatherings, which we will cherish in our hearts forever. She always enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren. The bond they made will never be broken. BEYOND THE SUNSET Should you go first and I remain, to walk the road alone. Ill lie in memories, garden dear, with happy days weve known. In Spring Ill wait for roses red, When fades, the lilac blue. And in early fall when brown leaves call Ill catch a glimpse of you... I want to know each step you take, that I may walk the same. For someday down that lonely road, Youll hear me call your name. "Beyond the Sunset, when day is done." A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Holy Family Nursing Home, St. Pauls Ward for their care and compassion, especially in these last difficult days. "Mom, we mourn your death but we celebrate your life." Cremation has taken place (Cropo Funeral Chapel). A private family memorial will be held.
