GERALD IRVIN CLARK It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our husband, father and best friend Gerald on October 12, 2000 at the age of 56. Gerald will be lovingly remembered by his wife Linda; son Colin; daughter Kristen; his mother Ruth; sister Shirley (Charlie, Troy and Corbin) brother Greg (Kathie and Mary Kate) mother-in-law Vera Johnson and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Irvin in 1974 and father-in-law John in 1999. Gerald was born and raised in Killarney, Man., and followed in his fathers footsteps working in construction for several years. In 1972, he and his father opened a business in Killarney, East Side Service. After his fathers death, he went into the trucking industry and was employed in the office of Mohawk Oil when he suffered his first heart attack in 1984. Forced to leave work due to ill health, he devoted his time to volunteer work, serving several years on the executive of the Oxford Heights Community Club. In recent years he spent his time as manager of the Transcona Railers Hockey Team. He enjoyed his time spent working with youth. Gerald was "one of a kind". Under his sometimes gruff exterior was the warmth of a teddy bear. He had many friends from all walks of life and left a lasting impression on everyone. He was never afraid to tell you what he thought. He loved his children dearly and treasured his many friends. He had a big heart and was always more than willing to help anyone out. He loved to travel, especially all the camping trips with family and friends, to golf, to play a good hand of cards and the company of friends and family. Cremation has taken place. Interment will take place at 3:30 on Monday, October 16 at the Transcona Cemetery with a celebration of Geralds life to follow at 4:30 at the Transcona Memorial United Church, 209 Yale W., Rev. Jeff Cook and Rev. Carol Fletcher presiding. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Manitoba Head Injury Association.
