Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELWOOD WILLIAM AINSWORTH Elwood William went to be with the Lord on October 11, 2000 from Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon, SK at the age of 93. Elwood was born July 12, 1907 in Gladstone, MB. He is survived by his only child Isabelle (Charlie) Carter of Saskatoon; four grandchildren, Sherri (Barry) Johnson of Regina, Garth (Eunice) Carter of Saskatoon, Kendra (Fred) Antunes of Regina, Lance Carter and his ex-wife Joanne Carter, both of Saskatoon; ten great-grandchildren and one great great-grandson. Also left to mourn are Dorothy Donnelly and her children, Sandra and Ian and their families, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Elwood was predeceased by his wife Vera, on April 14, 1972; his parents, Edwin and Jessie (Grantham) Ainsworth; his grandson Chad Johnson; one brother Carl Ainsworth and three sisters, Myrtle Steele, Mabel Ainsworth and Dorothy Ainsworth and Rev. Ralph Donnelly (Veras nephews). Elwood went to school at Valley Stream in the District of Muir, MB. Last year (1999) Elwood had the privilege of helping to unveil the Cairn that was placed where his old school used to be. Elwood married Vera Donnelly on February 28, 1933 and they farmed in the Mayfeld, MB district until 1955 when they moved to Winnipeg, MB. Elwood worked construction for a short time before starting with the Winnipeg and Central Gas Co. where he worked until he retired in July 1972. He lived in his home in Winnipeg, MB until March 1996 when he moved into Elim Lodge, Saskatoon, SK. Elwood had a strong belief in our Lord Jesus Christ. He was a member of the Mayfeld Orange Lodge. He was one of the original members of the Pine Creek, MB Gospel Hall. He was very interested in prophecy and listened to many religious radio broadcasts as well as attending church services faithfully at Elim Tabernacle. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Elim Lodge (1123 Moss Ave., Saskatoon, SK S7H 5K8) or to his grandsons church, Diefenbaker Drive Community Church (3710 Diefenbaker Dr., Saskatoon, SK S7L 6R9) or the Canadian Sunday School Mission would be appreciated. Celebrations of Elwoods Life will be held on Monday, October 16 at 1:00 p.m. from Thomsons Funeral Chapel (669 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB). Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Winnipeg, MB. Arrangements are entrusted to ACADIA DRIVE FUNERAL CHAPEL (955-1600)
