Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHAZEL FERN SEXSMITH (nee PEACOCK) We deeply regret the passing of Hazel at the age of 100 years less a day, in St. Norbert Nursing Home on Friday, October 13, 2000. Grandma was predeceased by her husband Jim Sexsmith in 1962, son Elmer and daughter Patricia. She is survived by her daughter Peggy Klone and sons, Ivan (Delores), Harold, Donald (Mary) and Bob (Vera) daughter-in-law Kay Jolly; son-in-law Claude Bohemier; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Hazel was born in Boissevain, Man., in 1900. She graduated from Normal School in Brandon, Man., and taught at Ninga and Wingham Consolidated Schools prior to marrying Jim on December 31, 1923. Together they raised a family and farmed in Elm Creek, Meharry, Otterburne and Niverville. They moved to St. Vital in the spring of 1942 where they continued to raise their family. Granny took an active interest in schools where her children attended and in the local United Church. Following her husbands passing she became employed at the Manitoba Motor Vehicle Branch. After her retirement, she took in Native student boarders from Northern Manitoba. She had an active interest in music and education all of her life. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 17, at 2:00 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. #1 East at Navin Road. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made in Hazels memory to the St. Norbert Nursing Home, Activity Dept., 50 St. Pierre St., St. Norbert, Man, R3V 1J6. GREEN ACRES FUNERAL CHAPEL 222-3241
