Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN ADELINE ISBISTER Jean Isbister died peacefully on October 13, 2000. Born March 13, 1915 in Brandon Manitoba, growing up in Brandon and Carberry, Jean was the eldest of five children of Rena (Rankin) and Dr. Alan Lipsey Church. She is survived by her two daughters, Joan Dawson (Richard) and Margaret; her two sons, James (Anne Louise) and John (Clarie-Ann) her six grandchildren, Jaimie (Kelly), Kae (Perry Edwards) and Heather Dawson, Norah and David Isbister, and Nicole Isbister, and her brother Alan Church (Joyce). Jean was predeceased by her husband John McKechnie Isbister in 1975, and by her three sisters, Aileen, Kathryn and Rena. Jean was very active in the Junior League, IODE, Crafts Guild of Manitoba, Childrens Home of Winnipeg, and was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church. She was an expert bridge player and in her early years an avid golfer and tennis player. She will be especially missed by the Winnipeg Art Gallery Stamp Group, and by her many dear friends. Her family will miss her guidance and counsel, and will treasure the many items knit specially for them. She was always rejuvenated by her summers at Victoria Beach with her children and grandchildren. The family would like to thank the very kind and professional third floor staff at the Victoria General Hospital. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeans memory to the Victoria General Hospital Foundation Oncology Fund, First Presbyterian Church Foundation Fund, Friends of Elmwood Cemetery, or to a charity of ones choice. A private family interment has taken place. A memorial service with reception following will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2000 at First Presbyterian Church, 61 Picardy Place.
