CLARISSA ELMA McKINNON Peacefully on Sunday, October 8, 2000 at the Carberry Hospital, Carberry, Man., Clara McKinnon passed away in her 93rd year. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, October 11 at 11:00 a.m. in the Knox Zion Presbyterian Church, Carberry, Man. Clara was predeceased by her husband, Charles John McKinnon (1983), her parents, Clarence Edwin (Ty) Titus and Annie Alice Coggon; sisters, Evelyn, Marjorie and Olive and brothers, Theodore, Harold, Gerald and Jack. She is survived by three sons, Paul (Dianne), Vancouver, B.C., Frank (Pat), Winnipeg, Man. and Warren (Penny), Woodstock, Ont.. She is also remembered by six grandchildren, Michelle, Peter, Jeff, Kevin, Kirsten and Maria and three great-grandchildren, Michael, Caitlin and Katrina. She is survived also by her sister Winnifred Lee, Carberry, Man. Clara was known for her music. She served for many years as church organist and choir leader at Zion Presbyterian Church, Wellwood, Man., played piano with several bands including the Welldonians (her family orchestra) and the Neepawa Blackhawks. She had her song "My Dream" published in 1938. Clara entertained at Care Homes and for many years at the New Hope Trailer Park, Mesa, Arizona, as well as the Centennial Building, Austin Threshermans Reunion. Clara was a faithful member of the Presbyterian Church in Canada. She took leadership roles at various levels, locally and nationally, with the Womens Missionary Society. She served several years as cook at the Presbyterian Church Camp at Clear Lake, Man. In addition to her music and church, Clara loved crocheting, letter writing and watching baseball and hockey. She was a caring, nurturing friend to many and a loving, supportive parent and relative.
