Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTOSHIO TAKESHITA Tosh passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2000 at the Victoria General Hospital. Tosh was predeceased by his brothers, Kazuki Takeshita and Kiyoto Takeshita and his mother Tsui Takeshita and is survived by his wife Nobuye (Nancy) brother Tadao and his wife Shigeko (Marg) daughters, Brenda (Bob) and their children, Lauren and Jonathon, Evelyn (Rolfe) and their son Michael; numerous nieces and nephews and their children; sisters-in-law Kim Fujinami, Fumi Yoshino, Betty Kanna, Sue Murata (Hardy) and Ruth Gerow (Charlie). Tosh was born on July 30, 1921 in Port Alberni, B.C. where he also grew up and went to school. He was interned at Hastings Park in Vancouver in 1942 at the start of the war and then relocated to Taber, AB in 1945, then on to Winnipeg in 1947 where he met and married Nancy Kanai on July 28, 1951. They raised their children in their home on Bannerman. Tosh worked at Capital Carpet and was later employed with Versatile Mfg. from 1966 until his retirement in 1986. At the time of his death he resided at Fort Garry Place. A funeral service will be held at the Manitoba Buddhist Church, 825 Winnipeg Ave. on Friday, October 20 at 8:00 p.m. with Sensei F. Ulrich presiding. A private family interment will be held at a later date at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Donations in Toshs memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7 in lieu of flowers. Toshio was a great and loving man who worked hard all his life to provide for his family. Tosh had a special joy for his grandchildren and his daily walks near the river with his wife Nancy.
