KIPP IVAN LANCE WATTS October 14, 1953 - October 15, 2000 Kipp Watts, beloved husband of Maren, tragically passed away at Easterville, MB, early on the morning of October 15, 2000, 2.5 hours after his 47th birthday. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter Stephanie and his sons, Chad and Kyle; grandson Jaren (Edmonton) his beloved mother Beryl Watts and loving brother Miles Watts; cherished niece Madison, and his father Don Watts and step-mother Joyce (Elliot Lake, ON), and "special daughter" Chantal Desjardins. He is also survived by his grandmother Nellie Routley; aunts and uncles, Keith and Doreen Routley, Bruce and Anne Routley, Queade and Harold Anderson (Battleford, SK), Errick Watts (Ignace, ON), Bernice and Charlie Birch, Brian and Bev Watts, and all of his cousins. Kipp is also survived by many, many special friends whose lives and hearts he touched. Kipp worked for Dominion Divers for 26 years and thought of Gil Lamothe, his boss, as a father. Kipp made many friends through his work, wherever it took him, and he will be missed by many up North. Kipp has always been involved in his community. In his teens, he was Past Master Counsellor, Order of DeMolay (Red River Chapter). Kipp coached Community and AA hockey for many years and took his 13 year old AA team to Australia in 1987. He was devastated when one of his hockey boys, who had turned 14 in 1987 in Fiji on the way to Australia, was killed recently on his 27th birthday. His hockey boys grew up with him and he loved them. This year, Kipp was serving as President of Vince Leah Rec Centre where he was honoured to present his mother Beryl with an Award of Recognition for her 35 years of dedicated service to the Community Centre on the evening before his death. Kipp loved the connections and friends he made through his community work. His favourite place to be was at the cabin on the Winnipeg River (Kenora). He took pleasure in teaching the kids, large and small, to waterski and he enjoyed pushing his friends off the dock. Kipps lake friends, and all those who knew and loved him, will miss him dearly. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, October 20 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Rev. Fraser Hunter officiating. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements - 586-8044.
